Melissa Sigler ignited the Bayou Country of Louisiana by releasing EASY WAY OUT in 1999, and winning the “Best Emerging Blues Artist” Award from OffBeat Magazine's Best of the Beat Awards for 2000 in New Orleans. She released SECRETS in 2001 on Louisiana Red Hot Records and expanded her touring from the Gulf Coast to festivals and blues venues in the Midwest US. She received several songwriting awards in the Blues category in the 2003 John Lennon Songwriting Contest and the 2004 Billboard World Songwriting Contest. In 2005, the Music City Blues Society nominated Melissa for Best Female Blues Vocalist and Best Blues Keyboard Player and in 2006 she was named the winner of the Music City Blues Society’s Regional Blues Competition in the solo category making her eligible to go to Memphis in 2007 to compete in the International Blues Challenge. Melissa's powerful, sultry vocals highlight her blues performance together with her piano playing and songwriting.”
